About Andrew

Andrew Mott’s life was driven by his faith in Jesus and his desire to serve others. After a decade as a mechanical engineer, he felt God calling him to make a greater impact. He became a Police Officer in 2018, working the night shift in downtown Columbus, Ohio, where he was known for his wisdom, integrity, and attention to detail.

Andrew’s faith wasn’t just something he believed—it was something he lived. Whether quietly helping those in need, mentoring new officers, or just having fun with those around him, he treated all people with kindness and dignity, seeing his work as a way to serve God. He was known as a reliable man who routinely adjusted his plans to lend a hand to family, church, friends, and others. During his service, he was awarded the division’s Purple Heart and, shortly before going to live with Jesus, he finished sergeant school in preparation to lead others with the same humility and dedication he had always shown and was posthumously promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2025.

Andrew’s life pointed to a greater story—the story of Jesus. His legacy of faith, service, and compassion continues to inspire others to love as Christ loves, serve as Christ serves, and trust in the eternal hope found in Him.
